This certification is called the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification (49 CFR Part 26). Airport, Highway and Transit agencies across the US seek out firms certified as DBE for federally funded projects. Popular Prof to sell Invention PLUS Networking & Pizza Dr. James Lott, a chemistry professor whose innovation is about to hit the big time, will be the featured speaker at the Feb. 12 Dixie Tech Friday. Dr. Lott has invented a spray-on, non-toxic substance which controls dust and enables railroad cars to travel without the required tie-downs. Dr. Lott is a native Kansan who got his BA and MS degrees at Fort Hays State College before receiving a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Idaho. After teaching college in Missouri for 31 years, he retired to southern Utah, but not for long. He soon was teaching chemistry at Dixie State College where, for another 7 years, his teaching methods helped hundreds of students decipher a difficult topic.
